Does a school fit in a tent?

In Chad, 170.000 people have run away from home because of violence and have looked for shelter in the refugee camps. In this context there are thousands of children who lack, among many things, of the chance to go to school and change their future.

ALBOAN doesn’t want their lives to be cut short and that’s why we want to guarantee the access to basic education to 13.000 boys and girls in the refugee camps in the Dar Sila region, in Chad. In order to achieve that, we support:

• The restoration and building of classrooms in hangars
• The acquisition of educational material
• The teaching staff training
• The involved of parents in the education of their children

To improve autistics and their families’ quality of life

Does the cure for autism exist?

No, it doesn’t. Its signs will be present for the whole life. However, that doesn’t mean there is nothing we can do about. It has been proved that, with an early diagnosis and a specialized and personalized therapy, we can achieve significant advances in the behavior, communication, social integration and autonomy of autistic people. To build at least every year one more library

Could you imagine your life without books?

Since 1998, one of our activities has been to collect books for building libraries in South American countries, sending from Spain a container with books and providing them with funds to buy books in their own countries and to equip the library with all the necessary things and also a computer room.

We have decided to take a step further, and we are opening a second hand book library that will make it easier to have a comfortable and accessible place to collect the books and at the same time, selling some of them will allow us to fund the creation of at least one library a year in any of the South American countries. Help us get it!

To preserve Amazonia in Madre de Dios (Peru)

Can you imagine the Earth without a lung like the Amazon Rainforest?

ECODES, through the CeroCO2 project, as well as fighting against climate change is helping preserve Amazonia. Your help will support to prevent deforestation in Madre de Dios, an area in Peru which covers 100.000 ha of forest. It will also contribute to the sustainable development of rural producers and indigenous communities (Tribus Yine and Mashaco) who live in the area, by funding ecological production projects.

Entreculturas Foundation is a Development NGO promoted by Jesuits, which believes in education as an instrument of transformation, social change and discussion amongst cultures.

Thanks to this project, we will be able to provide schooling for 200 students and other 966 will enjoy an educational improvement with the carrying out of Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical lessons in two new laboratories. Help us get it!

To help the families affected by rare diseases

Can you imagine being affected by a disease no doctor knows anything about?

In Spain, there are thousands of people and children who think there is no solution. Their disease is so infrequent and different that no one wants to help them. In FEDER we know that there are many people willing to give hope and illusion to those families who suffer rare diseases. FEDER helps the families during the whole course of the illness by providing advice, formation, company or by exercising their legal rights against the administration. We offer you psychological attention, legal advice, family break days, training meetings and visibility in mass media. We need your help to carry out all this work.

To operate and rehabilitate children who suffer from leprosy in Sanawad (India)

Is leprosy an illness that belongs to the past?

Unfortunately it is not the case. Every year 12.500 new cases of leprosy are detected in Indian children. Leprosy marks the life of these children; many of them stay disabled, are left out of society and are forced to abandon their neighborhoods and schools.

In Fontilles we have been struggling against leprosy for more than a hundred years. Today we are asking for your help to be able to operate the 200 children in the leprosy hospital de Saint Joseph in Sanawad (Madhya Pradesh State) who are suffering disabilities as the result of the disease. Reconstructive surgery will allow them to recover their mobility, as well as to come back to school and lead a normal life, and in that way they will be able to break the disease and poverty circle.

To teach reading and writing to ivory women

Did you know that more than 60% of the ivory women are illiterate?

Global Humanitaria promotes a literate program for more than 1.400 women in 25 villages in Ivory Coast. You can make increase their self-esteem and help them be more independent in order to give a better education to their families.

Ivory women are the propelling force to the economy of their families. They often gather together in co-op systems and administer the sale of their harvest. However, they cannot read nor write, which helps to mismanage their business’ economy, along with the loss of profits and the unscrupulous people trying to take advantage of them. You can contribute to change this situation!

Llevamos Magia’s volunteers dedicate themselves to bring nearer magic and illusion to children in hospitals, so that at least for a moment they are able to forget their situation: “We awake in them the happiness they couldn’t find long ago, as well as in their closest environment, their families and the staff who treats them”.

To connect forests in Spain in order to protect its fauna and flora

Did you know that due to deforestation 3 species disappear every hour?

With your help we will fund the Squirrel project (Connecting Life) to connect all forests in the Peninsula through ecological corridors that will provide a connection between the south and north of the country, the east and the west. This connection will allow the fauna and flora species to migrate from one territory to a different one. Why is it called the Squirrel project? Because we are going to preserve and plant all the necessary trees for a squirrel to travel from Tarifa up to the Pyrenees without coming down from the top of the tree. Come on! You can also “plant” for the planet.

With statistics like these it’s impossible to just stand on the sidelines. Fundación Telefónica, through its Proniño outreach program, has contributed to the eradication of child labor in Latin America for 14 years.

We firmly believe that achieving our goals is possible through the power of education, the key to breaking the vicious circle linking poverty and child labor.
Today more than 279,000 children have laid down their tools in exchange for books and toys and have been given the opportunity to reclaim their childhood.
